why I have been absent

I have not posted for a really long time!! the reason is this blanket. I made it for Matthew. But the problem.....I couldn't decide which yarn.....what color.....or what pattern...

This turned out like I wanted....but it was a real time issue....started about six weeks ago.....size 7 needles.....18 skeins of superwash wool from knitpicks....... 70" long and 36" wide.....

now I am off to make a hat......

I wish for all to have a very Holy Christmas Eve and a Merry Christmas

what has taken me away from paper

I have had issues with this pattern. The sweater had to go in time out a few times. But I figured it out. My first lace pattern.

more from Madagascar

I am still learning and still lost at the same time......this is alot harder for me than "standard" scrapbooking...... I just cannot seem to get some of the techniques....like snapping a picture into the template and have it fit the template and then there are masks........but I just keep on keeping on......maybe they will someday take less than days to create

finally after two years

I am getting started on putting together all my pictures from Madagascar. I have the whole summer of no work....this is a good time....I have decided that it will be less expensive to make a digi book than try and print off ALL the pics and THEN try to scrapbook them...
I dont think this page is finished but it is started.....

STEEKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What an emotional ride...this sweater......and I have decided that steeking go against all that I have been taught as a knitter........I am so afraid that it is all going to "unknit" itself......
so.....this is a peek at the sweater that has been consuming my time the last couple of months....
it is almost ready......
the sleeves are on
knitting the "edges" or what-ever they are to cover the steeks...
then the neckline....a complete other story....
will try to keep you updated.....

got this from "Scrappn Gal Val's" blog this morning

directly from Val........................................
As many of you know, I go to CHA and work a booth for Scor-Pal. It's always so much fun to reconnect with people I've met and meet new people each time. Returning and new retailers and crafters were delighted to see the new Scor-Buddy that is coming out in April. For some time cardmakers have been asking for a smaller, more portable, Scor-Pal. Roy and Diana Crick, owners of Scor-Pal, listen carefully to what their customers ask for; the mat came out when we heard from crafters who wanted a work surface compatible with their Scor-pal, a metric board came out for those on the metric system, and now the Scor-Buddy. I love that about them, that and the fact that they are two of nicest, most genuine and generous people I have ever met.A little bit of detail about the new Scor-Buddy. I've taken a picture of it atop the regular Scor-Pal and Scor-Mat for size reference.Scor-Buddy
It's 9-1/8"L x 7-3/8" W; actual score bed is 7" x 7" (6-5/8" is the last width score line)
Score lines every 1/4" across the board
1/8" scores on both the left (1" total) and right sides (7/8" total) of the board
The 4-1/4" score line (A2 card) now has an asterisk icon for easy reference
The gate fold dots (2-1/8" and 6-3/8") are still there
Half of the brochure fold (inverted triangle) is there (to complete a brochure fold just rotate the paper and score)
The right fence has been eliminated
Scor-tool snap in closure just like the big board
It will be packaged with a zipper case (not shown) for protection when traveling

the story of my thumb and the swans

in trying to make good of the ill that comes my way sometimes - I was inspired to create this page
I haven't done much digi stuff lately as I have been in the knitting mode.
and semi in the traditional scrapping mode....well I just got there today.
decided that I need to create a bit more and in doing so hopefully
drag my ever growing tushy out of the mental muck its been in lately.
so long story short
as I look at the gross-ness of my thumb....I can remember the beauty and gracefullness of the swans
